It has been a while since I used my film camera. In 2014, I shot almost exclusively with it, but when the holidays rolled around I picked my DSLR back up (since I would be taking so many more photos and having the digital files were much easier to share). It’s great to mix things up, and I’m glad I’m starting to love my DSLR again (I was in such a funk with it). But, I miss my film. My mom is visiting this week, and it’s the perfect excuse to use the rest of the roll I have sitting in my camera. It’s a different kind of film than I usually use, so I’m excited to see the results!
Anyway, I thought I’d go back through the film photos I took in 2014 and share (some of) my favorites – both for fun and for inspiration. Really, I love them all, so it was difficult to narrow them down. There’s something so magical about film (even when out of focus or blurry) that digital doesn’t quite capture.
*As always, photos were shot manually and are unedited. And there are a lot of dogs. Because we love them around here.

Sam I am going to have to put the helicopter and basket pure in the mail… Did you guys check about helicopter, can you get part or can I ship back to them?
Awesome shots!
Thank you!
Beautiful photos – you’re a very talented photographer! There’s nothing quite like film.
Thanks so much! 🙂
